Our Dreams and Aspirations
BE is a wellness company that strives to make you, a better you, the natural way. We are a company that was built from the ground up. Our belief is that the cures to our ailments lie within the dirt. We are focused on building a community that encourages people to get back to their roots. We want to help bridge the gap between western medicine and the “alternatives,” while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which we can heal. Our mission is to equip everyone with the power to heal themselves, starting one community at a time.
From earth we come, to earth we return; it will be the earth that keeps us... BE
Owner & Herbalist
I am a lifelong learner, passionate about health and wellness. I’m a full-time practitioner of Herbal Science based in New York city. It was in the fields of my family's farm in North Carolina that I learned about the connection between the land below and its people above. It was from those teachings that I also found an understanding that we are connected to the Earth, and it to us. Those foundations led me to a life of healing, and teaching one to be healed. We offer a holistic approach to healing and passionately believe in the power of the body, and its ability to heal itself through an alternative and natural path.
Throughout the history of mankind, many civilizations had their own understanding and ways of healing. Indigenous plants, customs, and beliefs have all determined the different forms that healing takes, which varies not only across countries but also between villages. Lately, it seems that we are facing a global environmental crisis that is affecting each aspect of the way we live. Across America and even the world, a new resurgence of Holistic wellness practices are being birthed. We believe that every community needs to BE Well on their own terms, in their own way.
Herbalism is the practice of healing, through plants. We are practitioners of this house of thought, believing that the plants are natures cure for common and uncommon aliments. Herbalists dedicate their lives to working with medicinal plants. They include native healers, scientists, naturopaths, holistic medical doctors, researchers, writers, herbal pharmacists, medicine makers, wildcrafters, harvesters and herbal farmers to name a few. While herbalists are quite varied, the common love and respect for life, especially the relationship between plants and humans, unites them. Persons specializing in the therapeutic use of plants may be medical herbalists, traditional herbalists, acupuncturists, midwives, naturopathic physicians, or even one’s own grandmother.
